Hey Chuck thanks for the response. To he quite honest I'm not sure what u mean. I know I took off a bracket bolted to the side of the transmission holding the cable to the plastic gear in n the plastic gear was rounded causing the cable to not spin

sounds like he's needing the cable gear, i believe someone said the cable is on the other side of the tail shaft housing (opposite of an auto) do the 4 speed gears have opposite rotation teeth???
how many teeth are on whats left of the gear you have now?

The teeth on the gear are completely fine. It's the inside of the gear where the cable goes into that is rounded instead of squared to make the cable spin. I'm not 100% how many teeth it is now. I put it back on n went by rpm for mph. Thank u also for a response

If I understand correctly, you need the driven gear(inside of gear where cable resides is rounded out). Try National Parts Depot, the manual transmissions use a LH rotation driven gear, whereas an automatic uses a RH rotation gear. A few pages to look at, hopefully find the needed gear tooth count gear.

ok that sounds like an easy fix, before you put the new gear on i'd check your cable, it may be screwed up and caused that to round out???

Thank u guys for the responses. I tried NPD n they don't have anything for my application. Summit, jegs, all parts stores included. But I will definitely try the cable inspection also. But the next question would be how can I check if my cable is messed up? Sorry for the late response my phone got broke n barely got a replacement. If anyone wants to contact me directly that would be awesome. grantorino1972351@gmail.com or 8053360178 thanks, Joe

If you mentioned the word "Torino" they will just about tell you to get lost, so to speak. Try going in and saying "Ranchero" (I live about 20 miles from NPD-Ocala, Fl), that gets me a cross-eyed/cringed face reply every time. Try here: http://4speedtoploaders.com/store/speedometergears.html
