It looks like I didn't get a set of oil pump bolts with my engine. Does anyone know what size/length are used for a 351C or 400 oil pump? Are any washers required? I was just going to pick up so me grade 8 bolts if I can get the proper size.
Thanks

the Tom Monroe book says they're 3/8"-16 but doesn't give a length, text states that the bolts have lockwashers and the TQ is 25 ft-lbs, i also found 22-32 ft-lbs grade 5 should be plenty, at 25 ft-lbs you're not going to get yield on a grade 8 Edited by Rockatansky - 04-September-2018 at 8:36AM |

Thanks Rock. I think I found a listing for the 351C - 3/8"-16 x 1 1/4". It looks like its the same size as the 351W. Weird thing is they have separate part number listings.
351W 20428-S8 (B82) 351C 359266-S8 (BB157) So I think I should be good to get some quality fasteners from a part store on this? Any advice on the type of lock washer, or just a standard split lock? The ford part number for the washer is 34807-S8, which is a split lock.

local source should be fine, pretty sure they're split lock which mech geeks say are the worst but i wouldn't want any of the semi-permanent ratchet teeth designs on this simple job

I did some reading on split lock washers. Interesting, some say they are worse than regular washers. Maybe I will use locktite to be on the safe side.
