I am in the process of rebuilding my front suspension and have a question on the strut removal. Engine and front body parts off of vehicle, frame on jack stands, and am attempting to remove strut nuts on lower arm but can't bust them loose yet. If the lower arm is in the lowest position due to spring pressure will the angle of the strut in this position put additional pressure on the bolt making the nut harder to break loose or doesn't position matter? I just picked up a new air impact wrench but haven't tried it yet, just curious on the strut angle aspect. thanks - dave

To break the nuts loose it shouldn't matter. You will likely have to use a hammer once the nuts are off to break the bolts free from their splined holes in the control arm.

no it shouldn't matter the strut rod rotates in the front bushing. you are trying to remove the nuts on the bottom? correct??? as the bolts are splined into the rod the heads on the top shouldn't turn just like wheel studs
