Has anyone had experience with this company for replacement rear coil springs?
If there is a better recommendation, I am all ears.
The Montego needs a butt lift...

Thanks,

Most on here have just used Moog and other brand replacement springs.  All off the shelf aftermarket springs pretty much have the same specs when cross referenced.  Eaton off the shelf springs seem to be pretty much identical in specs to other aftermarket brands.  What they can do though, is build a custom spring to your specs.

That said, if you are just looking to chance you stance and freshen up the ride, we have a couple of really good articles hear on springs.

This thread covers all the OEM and aftermarket spring specs (Montego is the same as Torino )

This thread shows a cars with different springs installed so that if gives you an idea of the stance you will get when installed:

Read through these threads and you may be able to find a cheaper alternative to Eaton Springs.

Thanks Vince, I missed the Coil thread earlier, so I will check it out.

I was asking the tech at Eaton about the different offerings for the
various suspension options for 72 and he was telling me the listing
he showed in their system for standard spring was the same as the
Competition Suspension which I have as OEM. He had another that
was for the Heavy Duty Suspension. That was partly why I asked
here on the forum.

Appreciate it!

Hey Billy, according to the factory Ford parts catalog, there was a difference between the standard, competition and heavy duty rear springs.  They had three separate part numbers and ratings.  But like I said, you can probably find a cheaper solution with Moog springs.  Look through the spring threads that I posted above and if you find something you think might work, post a question about it on here.

I have Moog 8307's in my car and they are decent.   I also ran Moog 8531's previously, which also gave a decent stance, but were a bit too stiff with poly bushings.

Rock, that's what I was wondering....have a good friend, former mechanic for a Lincoln Mercury dealership and he thought he heard something similar to that. Also mentioned that Moog might be a better option as well.

i recall seeing a very comprehensive data chart for MOOG springs,

pretty sure it's been at least linked to here on the forum and should be available on the MOOG page

the factory had a different spring code for all 4 corners if the car came with a cigar lighter or not LOL
