*6 393 stoker out 86 mustang. automatic will it go in 79ltd2 without major problems. mine has never had much oil pressure like 10# at idle .

If it's small-block based it will bolt right in.
You will need to use the right front sump oil pan and pickup.
Fox-body use the double/rear sump pan and rear pickup.

Originally, yes. Doubt a factory system would work with a 393, would expect it to be carb-converted. If not, it's a simple job to swap intake, dist., and possibly timing cover/water pump (if reverse-rotation and no fuel pump mount)

Ok would a 302 oil pan work I have a spare as the pinto had to have a mustang 2 oil pan

Depends... is the engine 302 or 351W based? the pans are different I think.

351w. Just wonder about motor My fear is even God can lie when it comes to cars. Machine shop wants 1000 1500 to put my 302 back together. To build up my 351 about the same.

Shocked wow is that parts and machining? or just labor???  if it's a 393 it should be a 351 based IIRC the 302 based stroker is like 348...

351 PARTS 302 LABOR IT WAS A GENERAL PRICE RANGE 1000 TO 3000 THAT'S WHY THIS DRAG CAR 86 NEVER FINISHED 383 $3000 SOUNDED TO GOOD.

I realize you've decided not to do this, but for anyone else reading, the 302 oil pan will NOT work on a 351W.

nope! one has a larger dia. "U" shaped dip at the end of the pan

You also need a mustang 2 oil pan unless you modify one.Also mustang 2 sway bar
