sorry if I missed a thread on this. Now that I have to use the 74 spindles so I can go with the larger rotors (since the 72 TBird ones apparently are not being made by anyone anymore), is there anything else I will need to change, like ball joints, tie rod ends, or ??? Thanks, Russ

I realize there are some differences between the early '72 and the later Torino(intermediate) chassis/brake system parts, but it is said that the '74-on spindles is a bolt-on deal for a '72. After a bit of research a '72 intermediate uses the same upper/lower ball joint and tie rod ends as '74-'79 intermediates. That said, you do have other options that utilize mostly stock parts, but does require a little bit of fab work. This link shows what I did to get better brakes(among other things):
Hope this is helpful.

should bolt right on, and the 74+ full size rotors even use the same bearings, add the big brackets and put your caliper on! other than the bolt pattern thing its a done deal i know when i did the front of my car with this set up, it seemed to have almost twice the stopping power

I concur with Johnny. Did the same upgrade to 74 spindles, with the Mark 4 brake caliper brackets and Mark 4 12 inch rotors on my 72 Ranchero GT, then used 5 on 5 to 5 on 4.5 adapters. Big difference on front braking. (used adapters because of my wheels, they are 01 Bullit Mustang wheels that needed less backspace anyway)

that's why i mentioned about wheels... we're planning to do the big front brake conversion on my buddy dave's car since he's planning to buy new US mags slots he can just order the front wheels with the 5 on 5 pattern and buy the wide rear wheels in 5 on 4 1/2

Thanks, all. I was worried all the new front end parts I bought might not work. Russ
