I have my front suspension all apart and am at the point of painting the parts but can't do it outside for quite a while due to weather.  I plan on brushing POR15 on and am curious on the smell/noxiousness of the fumes if I were to do this in the basement.  Are the smells something the wife will graciously accept or bad enough that the stare of death will be present for the forseeable future?  thanks  -  dave

All I know is if it's a zylon(sp) base paint it needs a lot of ventilation.

not sure on poe15 but the sem rustshield is strong fumes, but open a window after its painted and maybe a small fan too any fumes should air out fairly quickly...

I haven't used it in many  years, but I know it is impossible to get off your hands.  Read the container and it should say if it needs to be in a well ventilated area.  I'd probably guess it does.

Just don't get to the magic air/fuel ratio. Get the ventilation going before you start.

what vince said...  when i started painting my frame with POR15, i disregarded the warnings.  I walked around for three weeks with black all over my hands.  it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove from skin.  after that, i went and bought a box of latex gloves.

Stinks like hell, sticks to skin like a tattoo.
Sticks even better in your hair.
It will soak thru your clothes and fuse them to your skin. Especially socks.
