Have a 1971 Ford Torino 500 project. The nylon headlamp adjusting nuts were cracked and broken, so I bought replacement parts. They go in from the back and have two metal "clips" that fold over and hold them over to hold the nuts in place. How do you bend these clips over without breaking them? Anyone ever tackled this before?

wound up using large jaw locking pliers. Worked like a champ. Ruined 4 out of 6 that I had trying to find a fix though.

glad you figured it out yeah those are different that 72-76 cars they bolt on with 2 small screws.
the fender retaining nuts for mustang rockers are similar in design to those! but since they were all steel i snapped them in the hole and tightened a bolt up causing the tabs to bend into place (then tack welded the tabs so they don't fall out )Wink but those being plastic threads that wouldn't work Cry
