I have a friend who's father-in-law purchased a Talladega used in the early 70's.  Its been sitting for 30 plus years but is reported to me as having little to no rust and all orginal except mufflers.  It was started and drove a few miles 3 years ago, but it kept over heating.  The only thing the owner is worried about is mice maybe in the interior.  The car is white.

I'm not a Ford collector but have done a little research and in 69 this was the car to beat in NASCAR.  Thoughts on value?  Thanks, DTR

I like to look at completed listings on Ebay, but there are only two showing at present and neither one sold.  I associate the worth of one based more on what somebody is paying than what someone is asking.  One went to a bid of $8,700 and did not hit the reserve.  Looks like it was not in as good of condition as you describe this one.  The other had a Buy it Now of $30,000 and did not sell.  It had some modifications made to race.

If it's an original "T", not a clone, it can get pricey. My '69 is an m-code sportsroof, but I sure would love to stumble onto a true talladega

I meant "T" as in "Talladega", not "T-Code".

The Talladega had an extension in front of the hood, for about 6" that dropped the front a bit more, had fender extensions, as well as an assortment of other grille supports for the front because of the added length.

Just went on the "Talladega - Spoiler Registry" site, they have good info on this.  The VIN should start as follows - 9 - model year (1969), A - assembly plant (Atlanta), 46 - body series (Cobra 2 dr sportsroof),    Q - engine code (428 4V non ram-air).  The last six of the VIN start at 186566 and end in 207117.  All Talladegas will be in this number series but not all cars in this number series are Talladegas.  They also have data plate info on their site for you to check.  Hope this helps  -  dave

The front and rear bumper are the same. No slot in front bumper.
Front end is obviously extended from a normal fastback.
Post up some Pics!

Rockers are flatter/lower/seam flattened, snout is extended and the fenders will look "wrong" in front of the front tires. Grille is flush mounted and front bumper looks like someone slapped on the wrong one.

Collector car value is usually based on what the market will bear. As stated before, it's not the asking price, but what the car sells for.

I agree totally, and have stated that so many times in many different places.
