if you plan on using an edlebrock/carter style carb, make you use the square adapter plate,it caused a vacuum leak on mine when I used it on the "street dominator" version.

the plate caused a leak?

basically what happened was that the carter style mounting flange didnt seal on the middle edge of the secondary side and cause an vacuum leak, so i had to use the edlebrock adapter plate part #2372 and it worked perfectly.

some of the cheap multi-fit adapters are junk, have so many holes in them there no way they'll work for 1/2 the possibilities intended. there's at least 3 different spreadbore patterns i can think of quickly and specific adapters for each will leak on the others. it gets messy. the TD-2199 is specific to the 4300-D and has nothing but flat surfaces so little chance of failure used as intended

FWIW the -CA's list high $ but IDK if they sell? demand is for the squarebore -DA's like you want

yea same here when i put a serious motor together for my fastback. for now i am just gonna run the 70/71 style square bore cast iron intake ported out so i can run the 750 holley.

i wish i could fine one of those boss 351 intakes that ford sold over the counter with the square bore flange they use to sell for $200-$300 used.

problem is everyone thinks those intakes are correct boss intakes and want 800-1200+ for them  lol

I know but those square bore ones never came in cars correct?
on boss forums alot of boss owners had issues with the 4300D, so they purchased the square bore intake and a holley so they can enjoy the drive lol

i love the vintage flavor of the Offy but as intakes it's just a carb adapter

like you said 'good for now' but they're quite seriously down on power compared to other manifolds.

it's the wide open internal space / lack of runners that's the problem, but they do make an excellent base for custom intakes for the same reasons Wink
