Never seen one like that before!

Closest color I can find in the charts for '79 is code 85 Tangerine. Can't find that YW paint code anywhere....

IT IS ACTUALLY A BEAUTIFUL CAR!
And it has that gas tank strap spoiler.
Still haven't figured out what those are for.
Maybe to deflect air down to prevent some buffering sound or that helped deflect the air from catching on the rear bumper and keep it from acting as a parachute that would cause drag and a drop in MPG??

Yeah, that's a good question on what the purpose is. Here's the pic:

My T-bird has that as well.
Mostly, we used to tie cans to those on our buddies cars in the 80s.

That is nice. Change the Polycast Thunderbird centers to Cougar centers, detail the car and it would be incredible. Couple of cool bits I noticed - power antennae, rustproofed, tilt wheel, converters, and the exhaust is run very close to what it was originally. Nice touch.

LOL OMG we used to do that too back then... tie an old shock or headlight bezel under a buddy's car with heavy steel wire up by the tranny cross member, so it was out of sight or easy access ! LOL
