For a 1990 Mark VII 302 HO, what problems or changes do I run into changing back to carb from injected on this HO 302 1990?

Besides the possible cam issues you may see that Rock mentions, there are a number of other parts you need. You'd need an new intake, and distributor. You could use a low pressure electric fuel pump for the carb, but if you convert to a mechanical pump you need a new timing cover, and possibly a fuel pump eccentric.

Well that read was way over my head. Guess I will wait until I get the car home. Evonne wants to know how I expect to work on car when I can't lift a 5 gal can of gas.

Are you trying to swap the engine into something else, or run the Lincoln without the EFI?
Two very different sets of issues. For swapping the engine: EFI cam will work just fine. mine got swapped to a E303 cam, because it was available, but was originally running the factory GT cam just fine. Timing cover will need replacement. You can use a distributor with a steel gear (85 mustang GT with 5-speed for a source). Engine may or may not have a fuel pump eccentric, or only the inner half of a 2-peice eccentric. Eliminating EFI on the Lincoln, you will add computer complications, transmission control issues, emission issues, etc.

It is suppose to be going in my pinto. Though maybe carb would be easier than figuring the computer mess. time will tell. If not for the org owner stripping out all the wiring dash and all it is a rust free car.He even replaced air ride with reg coils.

You will need a carb, a carb intake, and a non EFI distributor for sure.
You will need an old style timing cover and fuel pump eccentric on the cam if you want to use a mechanical fuel pump. Not needed for an electric pump. If you don't want to keep the serpentine belt system you will need all the accessories and mounts for the V belt set-up. I'm putting an 89 5.8l (351W) in my 79 Pinto. I'm using the serpentine belt system and an electric fuel pump. Russ |

Keeping the serpentine. 351 w that's a tight fit no room for headers with 302.

They do make headers for both the 302 and the 351w swap. Have to cut the fenderwells, but I don't have the fenderwells anyway. Hoping I don't need them. Not cheap.
