i am new to the forum, my name is Gordon Hurt and i am from Cumberland, Va. i am 63 years old and when i was 17, i bought a 1972 gran torino sport. Later on in years i had traded the car. Few months ago i went searching for the car. After 3 months i located the car. Has been setting since 1985 and i bought the car back. Now !!!! this is my problem, the floor is completely rusted out and i have searched the web for a floor to install, but all the places that sell floors only list up to 1971. Is there a big difference in the floor on a 1972 gran sport? HELP !!!!!! Thanks for any advice

welcome! awesome you found your car Big smile 71's were unibodied cars the 72 -79's are body on frame cars. you can use 65-68 mustang pan sections to patch in they are stamped unlike the crappy aftermarket 72-79 torino pans listed on ebay those are just bent in a brake and require a lot of fab to make work...

here's the thread on the mustang pans

http://forum.grantorinosport.org/info-65-mustang-floor-pans-work-on-1972-torinos_topic14409.html

i'd recommend the full 1/2 pans each lower side

Welcome to the forum!  John directed you as I would have.  That thread is over in the auto body section.  Each forum has a bunch of stickies with useful information in it, like that floor pan thread.  Check around the different sections, there is tons of info on the forum.

BTW, I upgraded you to a new member, so you will have full access and privileges on the forum now too.
