I don't have access to the parts manual right now to confirm, but I am fairly certain they are the same.  Someone else may be able to chime in an confirm who's done a swap.

If the slots are offset where the mount stufs go through, you should be able to rootate the crossmember 180 degrees if I remember correctly from 1984.

I used my auto trans crossmember when I switched to a 5-speed.if that helps at all.

same from what i can tell, but there is the difference in the mounting style that changed mid 1973

early style is longer and reaches frame to frame, bolts into the frame itself while the later style has a mounting shelf on each side and sits between the frame rails, bolts to the shelf tabs. early and late are not directly interchangeable but can be adapted to work if you wanted / needed to.

Same same for all trannies. There are 2 slots on the frame or the brackets that slide it forward or back to accommodate the different length of trannies.

Difference was the 72 that bolts to the bottom of the frame or the 73+ that sit on the frame brackets.
