Does anyone know if the fenders have to be removed to change the Core Support on a 72 GTS?

i'm thinking so... you might be able to tip it out with them on loosely but you'd need to have the headlight housings and braces and everything else off for clearance probably more work than removing the fenders???

If you support the front clip, remove the battery, and spend a lot of time crawling around looking for that last bolt you can't seem to find.....
And then spend a bit of time weaseling it out and the new one in, it is possible.
Is it worth the aggravation?
Do you like inventing new swear words?
Either way you will spend some time re-aligning the front clip and playing with gaps and getting the hood to close right.
