What lights should be illuminated when I key-on, but don't crank yet?

Right now I have two that light:  a) set belts, b) oil.

Seems like c) temp should also be on, d) charge, e) brake?

Can someone advise what they see key-on, thanks!

i want to say my wagon's lights originally lit up as OIL and ALT and that was it, because the SEATBELT light wasn't connected.

Hope this helps.

Del...the 'belts' light comes on at first, but goes off after maybe 10 seconds.  The 'Alternator' and 'Oil Pressure' lights should remain on.  A few times a season mine acts funny and the 'Hot' and 'Brakes' light come one once started.  I lose the radio, turn signals and fuel gauge reading drops to E
when this happens.  A little wiggle on the key seems to remedy the problem.  These ignition switches are know to get a bit loose after 50 years.  I hope to get a new one ordered and put in before next driving season.

Hi, since my post I have seen ALT & TEMP come on a few times, so I will investigate the switch connector.

What about the Constant Voltage Regulator on back of IP.  Could this be an issue, wonder how to test?

Cleaning ign. switch got all lights illumination for a start, however once engine is running setting the e-brake one doesn't also light the brake indicator.

Seems like it should, yes?

Any guesses as to cause and switch location (down near e-brake pedal)?

look at the e-brake pedal if there's no switch there then it just a brake warning if one half of the system fails that would be on the prop valve if both front and rear systems are working then that light won't light up Wink

Thanks CJ

No pedal switch so it must be prop valve driven and only lights when one side is off.

that's what i'm thinking! the later cars 72+ are that way if they had a switch on the e-brake it illuminated a different light
