    Posted: 29-February-2020 at 7:50AM
Hello All,

First time poster, long time follower.
I am attempting to replace the rear brake line on my 71 Torino 500.
This is the line that is connected to the rear axle and has the small braided hose that leads to the hard brake line.
I am fairly certain this is the location of the leak and I have already ordered a new line.
My question: is there a special way to disconnect this line?
The line includes this sort of small box or bracket that the hard brake lines on the axle connect to. It appears to be very well connected to my rear axle currently and not sure how to disconnect it properly.

if it's like the 72-79 line they have 2 of the 3rd member nuts holding it on and a clip at the top above the bracket

found a pic of a 71 hose... looks like it's bolted down and a hard line to a tee to the hard lines to each drum?

It's the second one, however, I do not see where it actually bolts down to the axle.

Welcome to the forum Boggedust.  It looks like it has a vertical bolt that holds the line in place.  I zoomed in on the detail for the attachment here:

See the entire brake system detail for a 1970-71 here:
