Hello,

My name is Tom and I recently (last March) purchased a cherry, 1976 Ford Elite with around 80,000 miles on it.  She came with a 400 cid engine, bucket seats, floor console and floor shifter and the sport gauge pack.  Bought it sight unseen off of Craig's list in Des Moines IA and the test drive was from there to Little Rock, AR.  She runs like a dream.  Had a few minor issues found on the drive.  No accelerator pump shot, rat's nest in the air cleaner, kickdown linkage disconnected.  When I got her home I rebuilt the carb and fixed several other things.  What I didn't know when I started the trip was the tires were older than date codes and pretty well dry rotted.  But they didn't give me any problems and now she's got a set of 4 BFG Radial TAs.

I've really enjoyed getting and fixing this car up.  Have a few more things to bring her back.  Have to decide if I want to restore or hot rod her.  She's too nice to cut up, so probably a restore with subtle performance improvements.

Have a great day and look forward to chatting with you folks.

Welcome Tom! Sounds like you found a really nice Elite. I upgraded you to a full member, so you have full site privileges.  Post some pics when you have a chance.
