Hey guys,
Just tore apart my front end on my 72 GTS. Does anyone know if the control arms are interchangeable? I took them off and cleaned them, knocked out the old bushings and ball joints. Tomorrow my bushings arrive. I did not seperate or mark them, thought they were the same. I see a guy on ebay selling uppers and lowers, but he is specific on which side they are to. Thanks

The lowers are specific and pretty easy to tell based on the stop for the steering linkage. The uppers are interchangeable if I remember correctly. See what others say about the uppers too. Different years had some very minor differences in the suspension.

I had no idea what those protrusions on the lowers were for. I guess I never sat down and thought about it. Probably still would of not known. I've been working on Fords for about 45 years, they never really caught my attention. Thanks Again.

Billy got it right. You will also note on the lower control arms the hole for the sway bars is side specific too.

Check the uppers side-by-side. Look at ball joint placement as compared to the centerline of the cross-shaft.
