help ... I am missing whatever spring device keeps my shift lever in the rearward position. 1971 Ranchero ... same as Torino

The shifter was floppy

When I disassembled the mechanism ... there was no spring present 😒😒😒😒😒😩😩😩😩😩 no spring of any sort

I don’t even know what I’m missing 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣😩😩😩😩😩

The rolled pin pivot point is perfect .....

I need help ....

welcome! i haven't personally disassembled a 70/71 column, but i'm assuming it's similar to the 72-79 columns? IIRC there's a small coil spring in there???
