I know this is a simple answer  but are the painted gloss or flat black  or do you paint it gloss then try and get it to flatten a little       thanks for any help   then there is another question on the quarter panel seam  the car had plastic filler in the seam  it was a vinyl top car rust lifted the filler out of the seam  I was thinking if I welded the seam shut  prime it and then put a metal patch in the seam then skim coat it with filler  do you think it would crack at the seam  I thought if I closed the seam it wouldn't rust  it is heavily pitted now  the rest of the roof just surface rust     thanks jim

IDK i think the wheels were semi-gloss?? if spaying it with a gun... you could add some flattening agent to the gloss paint then spray...

weld the seam solid then use duraglas filler not regular filler! yes you can weld a patch in flush to cover the seamWink

thanks for the reply that help with the rims  the seam would be filled with about a half an inch of filler I just thought that would be too thick and would shrink in time  I would put in     in thin layers  and let it set good but if i fill the seam with metal it shouldn't shrink as bad  it will be a painted roof  thanks jim

ok if it's that deep, I'd trim a piece of sheet metal to fit over the whole seam flush, welded and ground smooth then body filler to blend it all perfectWink
