    Posted: 25-September-2020 at 12:22AM
Long Story Short

I thought I had rear window trim for my 1972 GTS formal top, but when I did my test fit the fitment was terrible.

So I went online searching for "new" trim and found a guy selling this set on FB also from a 72 formal roof vinyl top just like my car is, (I'm removing the vinyl top). And his fitment also looks terrible, please see the picture. What am I missing?

Thanks for any help offered

I believe that there is a small piece that goes over the center section.

So that's part of the passengers side piece and slides over the drivers side?

John, are you saying in the rusty photo I attached that trim is not “layed out” correctly?

Yes, the fastback has a larger back window.

if you have fastback trim the sides will be longer and the bottom piece(s) are different kinda stepped as they screw down under the trunk lip i believe? the top pic is correct they're just not together in the groove

hogfiddles, that's what i suspect is going on with mine. the individual who removed it initially did not have a delicate touch.
