I just got a price for a reman 460 from a place in Spokane, Wa called 'S & S engines'. The name of thier website is 'hiperformer.com'.
They spec'd a 460 long block(no tin parts or accesories) with a 280-cam, DOVE heads with the ehaust side smoothed out, 3-angle valve job and all the other typical reman stuff.
This is the rest of thier standard reman menu:
Engines remanufactured by our remanufacturing line meet or exceed O.E.M. specifications.
- New Manley valves - New Elgin valve springs and keepers - New Badger pistons - New Hastings molly rings - New Dynagear timing gears and Durabond cam bearings - New Dynagear timing gears and chain - New Elgin lifters, push rods, rockers, balls and nuts - New Dynagear oil pump - New FelPro gaskets - Cylinder heads are pressure checked - Diamond honed valve guides - Three angle cut valve seats - All head surfaces are broached - Blocks are bored with deck plates, cylinder walls are diamond honed - Crankshafts are ground and polished for .002 clearance - Camshafts are ground to O.E.M. specifications, hardened and polished - Connecting rods are sized to .002 clearance They have a price of $2,355, which includes the cam and head upgrades.
7 year/ 70,000 warranty.
Anyone have an opinion about this price, or maybe know anything about this company?

Yes, I was pretty impressed by the price. The company seems to have a good rep, and they have been around for quite a while.
What i like is that they will take thier standard 'stock' 460 remanufacture price ($1475) and they will add any performance option you choose.
I spec'd it out with the 280-cam (Comp-Cam's Magnum 280) with 73-era police interceptor heads, with the exhaust bowl smoothed out, 2.19 intake and 1.91 exhaust, dual springs and 1.6 rockers, and 10/1 pistons.
I figure this will be good for 350-400 horses, and about 450 torque. This will not be too different than the 429 Cobra Jet in my 71 Mustang.
