I am pulling the 429 out of my 70 Torino Sportsroof and wondering where to find the partial VIN stampings.
I know there is one on the passenger side below the head or so I have heard, are there other locations? I heard that there may be a stamping under the oil pan. Does anyone have any info or thoughts to share? Thanks in advance. Joe |

I have a '70 & '71 429CJ. Both have partial VINs stamped on the rear of the block, driver side, just below the head bolt face on the exterior.

There are several places where ford cast numbers and indicators into the blocks to determine many things, model, plant, & date to name a few. But, they are typically not VIN specific. Several Ford big lock sites discuss these cast marks, Mustangtech, big block ford, others.....
