Ok, so I wanna pull my 302 this winter and beef it up, i currently have a FMX trans, i want faster acceleration and the ability to actually lay some rubber down.  I was thinking about maybe a c4/c6?  what do you guys think?  And rear gears?  whats the highest i should go for that?

This is the first I've seen your car and it came out awesome!Nice job! What tire sizes did you go with?

I'd go C-4,more reliable and a simpler tranny than the fmx,IMHO.3.70 rear gear is plenty for around town.

I would actually go AOD. And not because that's what I'm doing, but because Redneck Transmissions builds some sick 4R70W's that handle a lot of power. I bet they'd be happy to put out an AOD for you. Their C4's are also quite stout. And they're local to me

The AOD comes with the 1st & 2nd gear that increases torque of the line, great for small block 2 ton beast.

so i found a 460 with a C6 for $300..........sooooo tempting!  i was thinking buy & rebuild that and i can just drive on the 302/FMX while that project is underway.  Then put the 460/C6 in and rebuild/beefup the 302/FMX combo and sell it.....what do you guys think?
