Hey friends,
Been away awhile, but since started a new project...Merc is finished, and showing up at car cruises, looking and running good.
'79 Ranchero is ready for paint, interior almost done, trans back is finished.
So, trying to replace 351M with a 429. Motor is in great shape, and started all normal machine work. Problem is that I cannot find a set of Forged flat top pistons for this motor. I've been told that TRW bought by Speed Pro, is back logged and will stop making them. I called around same answers. I been trying to call Flatlander Racing, as their website shows a listing, hoping they have something in stock, but they don't answer the phone. Anyone know about them? Do they support all engine components for rebuilds? Anyone know where there might be set on a shelf?
I need Forged Flat tops, at .030 over....I really want to keep this a 429.
Thanks, Andy

Here are a couple of places to try. Very focused on 385 series engines and if they do not have it they will know who does. Diamond is making a pretty diverse line of pistons and they are available through Lem.

Cars by Carl has some parts listed:

Don't know if those are the pistons you are looking for, but might be another source to evaluate.
