Just found a new problem when I went for an hr drive. When I am cruising at 50mph upwards car feels like it hesitating or there is a fuel blockage. Changed fuel filter, new fuel pump, all the leads are 3 months old and plugs have 500 miles on them? Checked to see if there were loose leads, nothing I can find. Any ideas were to go from here or what I can check? It feels like blocked fuel filter but old one was clean.
Cheers
Damian

is it just a recent pump or did you replace it trying to fix the chugging issue?

why the heck do you have a W in Australia?

Hi there,
They are a fairly common motor out here. Not hard to get parts for either.  This has only recently happened, new fuel pump 6 months ago along with new holley 600 vac secondary. I have checked all the leads, adjusted timing from 9 deg to around 7, no change other than even less power now. Checked all the plugs look fine and clean. Leads are all new.
Cheers

I have a new holley 600 and have adjusted timing, no change.

just because the pump is recent doesn't exclude it from suspicion, i'd do a cranking volume test on it. it's supposed to pump a minimum volume of fuel in a set period of time while you crank the engine

factory manual states 1 pint / 20 seconds @ 500 rpm(cranking speed)
that would be US measure, 16oz  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pint

or it could be a 'dirty sock' in the gas tank. the sock is a pre-filter on the end of the fuel pick-up tube

The shiny brand new looking pump on the 351CJ I bought was useless...wouldn't even pump by hand.
08 Uplander LS, 262K, broken again
08 Explorer EB, 195K, for the wife
still looking for another something
