Jim, That's a real gem under the hood. Have you had any problems with oil leaks when you redline the engine? As you can see on my engine I have the Mr. Gasket Crankcase Evac System Part #6002, it's hooked up between my valve covers and my headers, otherwise everything under my hood gets a bath of oil after every 1/4 mile run.  http://www.mr-gasket.com/ProductDetails.aspx?brandID=1&p roductID=4175787&txtSearch=6002

Looked at that picture a bunch of times and still missed the evac tubes..  What color blue is your car?  One thing, be careful how close the top of the filter is to the carb, with a drop base 14x3 mine was waaay too close.

I havent gotten too much oil out the breathers since the new motor went in.   The old 466 with the Ford Motorsports covers and missing baffles used to keep everything nice and shiny under there.  (I used to tie the blue towels around them before the trip to the races).  That motor had loads of blow by though..  (was due to 13 years of racing and abuse I think)

McFord, glad to see you over here, beautiful engine you have there and the fact that you race it and it still looks so nice is amazing!

Thanks a bunch jim.  wish i had had the time to actually pull the fender wells out to have them stripped and also snad dow nthe firewall.  but, it looks good for a "driver".  one thing helps to keep it clean, linign bath towel along the inner top edge of the fender, to keep water from going in inbetween the hood/fender.  its not too bad to keep clean.  a dust cloth actually works quite well, and a light mist of pledge helps if i need it.  also helps keep it lemony fresh!  lol!

Dang, I never thought of the bath towel trick.  I always deal with the stupid spots on the inner fenders (mine are satin epoxy) with quick detailer.  (Even worse, I had to drive the car home in a downpour last summer, through a couple flooded roads so everything was water and mud spotted)

Hopefully I can get out to one of the Musclecar shootouts and catch up with you and Mike R and others..

Hey Jim, I missed your question on my car color. The Dark Blue paint finish on my car is the original color from the factory(Code #3H). I had an accident that killed the passanger front fender. I replaced the whole front clip that came from a light blue 72 GTS donor car. I could kick myself because that donor car was a 4-speed and it could have been restored. I like this original Ford paint color because it has purple in it which really stands out in the bright sunshine, but as the sun goes down, it goes from purple/blue, to darkblue, and then it looks almost black at night. I get many compliments on how cool it looks. I have a low profile Holley Throttle Body that as far as I can tell isn't being effected by the top of the air filter. How did you find out that it was causing a problem? I thought the K&N filter lid would allow free breathing through the top.

sorry it took so long to get back to you..  I went from 13.2's to 13.0's by adding the air cleaner spacer and an electric fan, the fan was worth about .1 judging by when I've forgotten to turn it off at the line (I also picked up about 2 mph in the swap)..  My car with the 466 also used to get richer and richer as the RPM's rose..

Very nicely detailed. Your MSD Distributor Cap, Wires and Coil sure dominate the front of the engine, however I can appreciate the hard work you went through piecing your engine together with go fast parts.

Times will be later this summer if I can get some different rear wheels. Those ET's have seen better days and I don't trust them for much more than cruisin' around on.

As far as the lightweight parts.... I still have all my patterns, just no place to lay up the molds till I can get a shop built. I have the space at this new(er) home, just need the extra funds. Till then,...styrene fumes, attached garages and family don't mix very well. Aggrivating, too. I bet I get at least a request a month for that '73 front bumper........

Kevin,

You just can't dangle the weight loss carrot out there and not have all of us running after it, we all anxiously await and look forward to all the spoils of 'glass.  (I could use a 1976 front and rear bumper by the way, would be cool to vacuum chrome plate them)  I'll ask you every other month for that one
