well i am hoping some one might know the answer one of my bosses is redoing a 91 mercury capri first off i dont know why? but he likes it. anyways he repalced the fuel filter and the fuel pump, and the car would not start it will try to on starting spray. he checked and was getting gas, then he checked again no gas then replaced the fuel pump again got gas now no gas so he replaced the relay no gas still. so what is up with that i have never heard of anything like this as far as i know he has replace the fuel lines as well.

thanks for any help

find the inertia switch and check for power when key is cycled to the on position.should have power on pink/black wire.i think thats the correct color.power times out after afew seconds.at this point you can work forward or back if its a fuel supple problem.does he have a fuel pressure gauge?

Tighten it down until it snaps and then back it off a half turn!

I had one of those. Loved the way it ran and handled, but finally sold it after much ribbing from friends. I would say it is probably the inertia switch as well. That car contains mostly Mazda parts, so replacements are easy to find.
