The factory one's for the Mustangs look decent if you section in the recessed portion of the mustang hood. I saw a 72 Ranchero with them and they almost look like they should be there.

what kind of valve covers are those?   oops I see you posted that they are custom CobraJet valve covers. so are all CJ covers finned like that? probably not easy to find either like the old Holley valve covers.

I have been looking for aluminum black wrinkle valve covers for my 429 but can't seem to find any.Ford Motorsport seems to only have the smooth polished aluminum valve covers and not the finned black wrinkle ones like they have for the small blocks and FE motors.

So basically if you painted the car with SEM HotRod Black and the exterior paint is finished

I painted the valve covers with vht wrinkle paint from auto zone. You can see what they looked like before in the picture i posted of my 429. i took it off the fins with brake cleaner and a rag wore the skin off my finger!

yah right now i'm not ready to purchase any just was wondering if those were store bought but then when I read again I noticed that they were CJ covers. They came out nice. I was gonna remove my stock valve covers and paint them with wrinkle paint but spray the lettering first and tape it off before doing the wrinkle paint but I would love to have some aluminum finned valve covers as they look better IMO.

How does the SEM HotRod Black hold up as far as fine scratches and stuff from washing or just general dirt and stuff. I always worried about having flat paint cause if you get a micro scratch ther is now way to get it out as you can't polish it like gloss cleear or gloss color
