HI I JUST CHANDED ENGINES IN MY 1975 TORINO THE ENGINES ARE BOTH 400'S BUT THE NEW ENGINE CAME FROM A 1973 MONTEGO AND IT WAS PLACED IN TO A 74 TORINO THE ENGINE WIREING HARNESSES WERE DIFFERENT SO I CHANGED THEM OVER THE DISTRUBITER WAS ALSO DIFFERENT SO I CHANGED THAT SO IT WOULDWIRE UP
NOW FOR MY PROBLEM THE ENGINE WILL START UP AND RUN BUT ONLY IF I HOLD THE KEY IN THE START POSITION IF I LET IT GO THE ENGINE LOOSES FIRE AND STALLS
I HAVE CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS AND AS THEY ARE ALL UNIQUE I BELIEVE THEY ARE RIGHT
ANNY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRICIATED  THANKS  CONARD C1975GTS@AOL.COM

to me,it sounds like either your ignition switch is bad, or maybe even the starting solinoid is bad/wired wrong.
