kewl, but don't you need 2?? 1 for the back and 1 for front California must be a 2 tag state as they show the Tag on the front bumper of Starsky's car

I know it's only for shows but don't you want to be accurate?

Here in Tennessee only a rear licence plate is required so I am putting the Starsky plate on the front (which is legal on TN registered vehicles) and I am going to have my regular TN plate (on the rear) personalised to read 537 ONN, costs 95 bucks a year...

Justin,

LOL, I have a pair for my car too.....

Was also planning to get an Ohio personalized tag for the car once I was finished with the build. 537-ONN is not a valid option because it's too close to the series of letters/characters Ohio uses for their normal plates. I had decided to go with "TV 2M8O" to go with my forum and project ID but when Ohio changed their plate design to the cartoonish background in 2011....

I decided the extra expense of the vanity plate on that stupid design was out of the question! I'll just go with an Antique Plate (I think it's like a one time fee of $50 bucks or so and is valid until 2050!!!!) and put the TV California plates on the car at shows.

Justin,

The expiration month and registration/validation decals were on the rear tag of the set when I purchased them on eBay a few years ago. The front plate is bare with NO decals as seen on the front of your car....

Justin,

Here ya go....

Each "decal" is 1" high x 1 3/4" long. SEPT is 19/32" high text, the blue box is 19/32" high and the red numerals below the CA seal are 11/64" high....

I wonder if these were originally reflective on the real plates???

Hope these do the trick!

Here's a shot of the rear plate on TV Hero #1....

I still can't tell if they are reflective or not! Any California owners owners here who can verify??

Yes, the original authentic month and registration stickers were a foil-faced reflective material.

Exact duplicates can be bought on Ebay for about $12 each, made from the same material as original.

I don't know how to post links...sorry.

Just put " 1976 california license plate registration sticker" in the ebay search, and it will come up.

I got this set of plates of Ebay for $14.00, and added a set of repro stickers (also from Ebay: $12.00 each)
Looks pretty good!

I have scans if anyone needs them.
