I bought the butyl adhesive from dearbornclassics (on the site it looks like foam adhesive tape) and yesterday when i took it out its actually circular/tube looking. Anyone use this before? Is this whats used on the door rails and bottom of back windshield where it meets frame? Im guessing you just apply pressure to press it down (not sure since ive never used it).

I believe I used this style of butyl when I was at the ford dealership,we used it to mount bolt in style glass like side glass in windstars, aerostar, works very well.It looks like a round piece of foam with sticky butyl on the outside correct?

Yes. The thing is that when i removed my door rails and back windshield, certain parts had what looked like flat adhesive foam tape. Thats exactly what this butyl looks like on the dearborn website but thats not what you get in the mail. I got this round butyl. Guess im just gonna try out a piece to see if itll compress and if so then use it where i need it.
