Hi.
Can someone help me decode what my cleveland engine block is? Casting nr: D2AE-CA and 3E1 and it has 2V heads. Thanks. |

if it has 2v heads it's probaby a 2v H code motor as they used the same casting number on the 351CJ 4v block and the block got drilled for 4 bolt main caps.only way to tell if it is 2 bolt main or 4 bolt main is by pulling the pan off as both engines used the same casting number

1972 to 1974 block. All had the same block casting number those years. 351C 2V, Boss 351C, 71 CJ, HO 72-74 4V. Some blocks were machined for 4 bolt mains and some 2bolt.
3=the year the decade is assumed in this case it means 1973 E=the month A =jan b=feb c=march and so on but the letter j is ommited because it looks to much like a 1 1 = the day of the month 3E1 = may 1 1973 |
