I used a stock front sump oil pan from a '76 T-bird for installing a 460 in my '79 Ranchero(basically same frame, from rear axle forward, as a Torino). The T-bird 460 pan has a depth of 8 5/8" and gives about 3/4" clearance between oil pan and engine crossmember. Todd

I was more interested in an aftermarket pan from Millodin, moroso, or summit. Most of them are for mustangs and I dont know if they will work on a 73 gran torino.

I use the Milodon pan. They make a windage tray too.

Thanks Mark. I wanted to make sure that a Milodon or canton would work, so I guesse the answer is yes. Do you recomend a windage tray or are there pans with built in baffles or anything ?

Steve, it needs to be a front sump pan for a similar year Mustang, a rear or double sump pan for a late model Fox body won't fit

Great I want the Canton #15- 750 so I wont need a windage tray. Remember I dont plann on long rides at all. So Mark, is this a decent pan ?

Oh ya. Canton is high quality.
I just use the Milodon because it's easy & fast to get.

One piece at a time! Its $290 for the pan & $110 for the windage tray and ARP studs. And $45 for the pick up tube. Is that too expensive ? I have an new old stock M-84 HV pump with chamfering and mild porting to all the recomended iol passages on the crank and block. I dont want to cut corners,, but dont need to go overboard either. I have alot of patience.
