I have a 1976 S&H LE that I am wanting to put a built 460 in and would like some help on an intake. The car will be a weekend driver and car show car but I may take it to track sometimes.I would like to know what is the best intake to run on the car that will still fit under the stock hood.I plan on a good size cam bored .030 and a Holley carb with Hooker supercomp headers. This will be my 1st big block ford motor.I have always messed with 302 or 351W.Thanks for any help.

Scott,
A good all-around aftermarket intake to use that won't interfere with the hood is an Edelbrock Performer. It isn't the most powerful intake out there for a BBF but it does very well for a daily driver. I have used this same intake and using a 1/2" carb spacer with a 14" air cleaner with a 4" tall filter (Fram CA3492 for example)the hood will still close no problem. It kinda depends on many things including engine mount manufacturer and/or air cleaner base design as being the two biggest factors. Todd

Yeah, It's a Hybrid...It burns gas and tires.
