Presented for your enjoyment - the 70 Mercury from Matt Robison and Merc9 [merc9.com], sponsored by Lager Diabla, Unifilter, and Contour Cameras.

555 cu in of big block Ford prepared by Jon Kaase [though not a Boss Nine engine].  Rev-limiter is set at 7400, and he usually shifts before 6800 - and at no time does it sound like the engine is being strained.

The start of the race [at 1:20], the Merc9 is in 4th position - at the first turn he is leading by 4 car lengths, after almost eating the backend of the slow Mustang in front of him.

I am fortunate enough to have a Kaase Boss 466 in my 70 Cyclone - but it does not move like this thing will Cry.

For those that do Facebook, the car is at Merc9speed.

If you live on the left coast and get a chance to go to one of the SCCA or NASA races they compete in this summer, you will probably enjoy yourself - take lots of pictures.
