well i just parted out a Lincoln Mark V and basically it's the same car but with a few small changes here and there to the body, chassis, and electronics. I think the Lincoln Mark 4 is just like the Mark 5.

-Ignition switches are shared with other 70's Fords -perhaps steering columns also -drivetrains of course |

73 is like 72 in that the 'doghouse' is unique, the complete front fascia, hood, bumper, not sure about the fenders? but they're all one year only... 1973 the dash wiring harness and the cluster are also limited year fit IIRC I use the Rockauto site to cross reference parts when I think they might be the same. look up the same part for both cars & it'll either the same part numbers or different. every couple years or so Ford changed all the electrical plugs & connections so the switches look the same but won't plug in unless you have the correct pigtail to splice in. also different body lines have different plugs with more or less wires for different stuff further, 1973 was a transitional year, many parts changed somewhere during the 1972 & 3 production years, like front wheel bearings, spindles, control arms, rear axle bearings & seals, rear control bushings? ... more? most of the time a 1974+ part will work with the right other parts to support it, or a 1972 part might be correct by itself. if you ever find yourself looking to rebuild the front suspension, you might want to change the control arms over to 1974+ to avoid any confusion about mid-year changes as you get to know the car you'll understand more what fits & what doesn't
