Anyone have a floor shifter in their ranchero? Looking to put a Lokar automatic floor shifter in mine. If I do install one I would like to get it out of the way while the seats and carpet are out of it. Thanks!!!

Do you already have a stock floor shifter and console?

I have a floor shift and console in mine, OEM from swapping out of my old 72 Gran Torino. There is a mounting bracket that the floor shift models use for the shifter to mount to. I found an extra bracket from a 75 Cougar to install into my Ranchero. It uses about 10+ screws to mount it to the floor.

I'm about to install a B&M hammer shifter into mine, it seems easy, but l'll bet its not.
Installed seats from a 2013 XR and console, so matching the angle of the shifter to the console is the first step for me!!!

Post some pictures of the interior when you through with the install. I'm curious how everything looks. I've got a b&m quick silver with a 1967 firebird console in my 76 ranchero.

welded in new seat brackets to house the seats, all of the seat belt warning looms, l left under the carpet, these Ford XR seats are the same l have in my road car, half race style seats, very body conforming shape, great touring seats ( akin to the Mustang style Recaro seats ), the console for the FG X is a little longer and too wide at the front, so trimming carefully was needed.
Like the Fusion, Taurus and Mustang, the FG X console slopes down from the arm rest to the underside of the dash.
That's where the angle with the B&M shifter needs another raising bracket from the trans tunnel to the console shifter hole... the hole and B&M shifter indicator box top, is a very close match for size, perfect when all assembled, with the added benefit of CUP HOLDERS!!... we all need cup-holders.
I will post pics when l get it all nutted out.
cheers David.
