Hello All,

My dad has a 1972 Gran Torino Sport fastback with 351CJ & 4 spd that he bought new. My fondest memories were of us working on it.  I learned everything from engine work to custom body work to welding on that car! It has been apart for the last 28 or so years and will be back together hopefully some time next year with help from myself and my boys. It has always been my dream to drive it, but I never have, as it was disassembled for restoration before I got my license. The body is on a rotisserie and the frame and running gear are assembled. I am active duty Army, and have moved all around so I don't get to visit my dad as often as I wish.  So I will be taking some vacation time some time within the year and bringing my boys to get the Torino on the road. I will be posting soon looking for some replacement trim pieces that he had sent to a local guy to refinish that were lost.  Other than the trim pieces I believe we have everything.  We just need the time to work on it.
I look forward to learning more and sharing some pics with you all soon!

Hi Randy,

I am at Fort Leonard Wood, not too far away.  The car is at my dad's house in Upstate NY.

Welcome to the forum Andy!  Sounds like a pretty awesome Torino.  My dad also bought my '72 Torino brand new too.  I have upgraded you to a full member so you can post pictures now.  We'd love to see the car.

This is the best place to be when you need help with advice or parts. Welcome and we can't wait for the pics. The only snail mail that arrives quickly are bills.

Pics came in. I will scan and upload tonight.  The ones of the car when it was on the road are from the 80s so they aren't the best quality.  The chassis pics are more recent.
