Thanks, I am wondering what that car is in the background? I just know that it's GM and it's a 4dr post car.

The old photos are always cool to see! I have a couple of neat shots of my (now) wife when we where dating and she is standing next to my 74 Torino. Keep the photos coming very neat stuff!!

I'm gonna guess that is a 67-69 Chevrolet Biscayne/Bel Air/Impala. Possibly a 70, also.

I always wonder what the history of my car is. Who owned it first? How many owners before the pawnshop loving old guy who couldn't get rid of enough shotguns to lower his blood pressure had it? Had it been out of OK or TX ever? Things I'll never know since I bought it on eBay from a pawn shop in OKC. But it's fun to think about.

I have a 70 caprice but it's probably going for scrap. I'll see if I can find more vintage photos. I have an envelope full of service/purchase documents for the Torino too.

1967-68 BelAir/Impala 4 door sedan. Impala also came in a 4 door hardtop, two tone Biscaynes were as rare as hens teeth. 1969-70 softened the sharp-edged beltline crease. Great eye Alan.

I should be able to go to the car again in early April. In the meantime, hopefully I can start gathering parts. I also know that it's getting stormed on right now... Still looking through the local classifieds for a 351W/AOD, no luck yet.

Today I went down to see the Torino and some of my other cars, and I looked over the Torino for a bit and made some lists. I realized that this needs a LOT of work, but I'm still going to try to restore it. I started tearing apart the inside today, but didn't get very far. I only removed a sill panel, bent the front license plate holder back, and removed part of the rear inside panel in the very back, but next trip I plan on removing a lot of stuff to get the engine block out. I also need another trim piece, as the one that goes around the lower area of the long rear window got crushed by parts in the back.

Yup, I figured out that it's not bird poop on the windows, but it's actually paint from the fence at my dad's house. Going to get the 302 machined and bored and the C4 reconditioned. I don't think that the Torino will make it to the show under it's own power, but I may be able to trailer it.

That car is not bad at all. It'll make such a beauty and I still say that is a sweet color. Understated enough to let the eye notice the great lines.

It has holes in the gas tank, lots of little dings and dents, and has a good bit of rust, and those lists I made are kinda long. You can see the front of an 61-66 F100 in one of the pics. The same guy owns that truck along with a 73-77 F100 Explorer, an Aerostar, and a Ranger along with other non-Ford products. I might ask about them.

C'mon man, slap an engine in that thing and join us. Who cares what it looks like - spray a coat of Hot Rod Black on it and ride. Can't tell I took my wagon out for a ride today, can you??

Seriously, look for a cheapo Crown Vic around a 91-down, grab the 5.0 and AOD, wire it up, fix the tank and ride until you get the drivetrain built.

Why was the 302 torn down to the block? Head gasket issue or was it used for parts at some point? Hows the block look?

I'll check the Pull-A-Parts on Crown Vics. Keep in mind it also needs brakes, a marker light, a mirror, new tires,  the glass (might replace with plexiglass for the time being), seat belts, and some rust repair. There's no starter on it so I cannot test to see if any of the gauges or lights work either. For some reason my dad tore down the block in the early 80's to rebuild it. The lifter holes have surface rust in them, the block will have to be bored, and it has the original crankshaft in it.

Good news. They have a 1986 and a 1990 Grand Marquis in a Pull-A-Part near me.

Sa-Weet! Check CL as well, since there are running, driving ones regularly in our areas for $5-800. I've bought 2 for their drivetrains.
