Hi everyone, I just acquired a 71 Torino as I promised my other half I'd get something more 'modern and sensible' after selling my 66 Mustang. She's slowly forgiving me.

I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how... at the moment it only seems to let me choose from online images rather than my own PC.

Hoping to get some advice on getting my car UK legal for a start - looking forward to getting stuck in and seeing what I've let myself in for...

Welcome! You'll be able to post pics soon.  Love to see your ride!  Is it still left hand drive? Big smile

Ah, thanks guys - will post pics when my membership permission updates.

Yep, still left hand drive, it's not really a big deal once you get used to it. I'm just enjoying having an auto box and power steering - most luxurious classic I've ever had.

Welcome Colin! It sounds like you have a great Torino. You've been upgraded to full member now so you can post photos. We'd love to see your Torino!

Great, thanks very much... here's the first shot, I've not shown the UK gas prices as it's too depressing...

And here she is sat happily in a UK parking space. To be fair, it's not usually this difficult, but it made me laugh when I saw the fit:

I've asked this on the forum page, but thought I'd try here as well - does anyone know if 1970 and 1971 sidelight (parking light) lenses are interchangeable? I need some clear lenses which don't seem available in 1971.  Any help much appreciated, will get me through the UK inspection!

Front needs to be clear, I can rig up the turn signals in the rear through the reversing lights with a dual LED bulb.

The 70 Torinos and Rancheros had a clear lens so I'm just going to buy a set and hope they fit. They've only got to fit once a year for the annual inspection, after all!

Your car looks fantastic Colin!  The vinyl top and paint colour combination look really sharp.
