Opinion on the hooker headers 6915hkr, I have a 73 gts 351c with a c6 tranny will these fit. Everything I've read tells me yes.

Those are for 71 to 73 mustangs, i doubt that they will fit. Hooker stopped making the correct headers a few years ago, but you might be able to find a used set for $350.00 to $400.00.

The ceramic coated headers are the most expensive option at approximately $950.00. There is also the option of buying them "painted" or "bare/unpainted" for a lower price. The price might start at approximately $730.00 for bare/unpainted or painted .

Damn it why can't anything ever be easy....I can't afford the ones in the link so I might have to just buy some headers and make them fit.

If you are looking for 351c 4v exhaust manifolds, the 1970 through 1974 passenger side are all the same. But only the drivers side from a 1972-1974 torino, gran torino, montego or ranchero, 1971-1973 mustang and 1971-1974 cougar will fit. The drivers side from a 1970 mustang and cougar and 1970 and 1971 torino will not fit.

There is a pic below of a driver side 1970 mustang/cougar and 70-71 torino/ranchero/montego exhaust manifold, notice how the exit end points up (arrow). If you try to install one of these in your car it will touch your steering box/gear.

There are also the exhaust manifolds from the 1971 boss 351C 4v engines. The exhaust exit points down on the drivers side, but the driver and passenger side have a larger two and a quarter inch exhaust exit on them and they might be too big to fit on your existing exhaust down pipes. You might have to take the car to an exhaust $hop to make them fit correctly.

Just checking, so are the fmx and the c6 bell housing pretty much the same size?

Yes the bellhousing on your c6 is pretty much the same size as a small block fmx bellhousing. But the c6 transmission is wider, that is the reason that some of those other headers will not work.

The fmx actually has a removable bellhousing, but the bellhousing in the third post in the thread below is a small block fmx bellhousing.

Thanks again Dave, having a list of what will and won't work should really help my search as I would rather have stock manifolds on installing of headers.

FPA headers had been making headers for Hooker from my understanding.
After seeing the quality of FPA {Ford Powertain Applications} I will be going that route when I rebuild my 351c CJ 4v.
