The wife wanted a screwdriver.
Out we went to my trusty Craftsman box. She saw the tools in my old box and thinks maybe I have too many... I started poking thru, and when I got to 18 ratchets, I stopped counting. She might be right. I'll never admit it though.

but if you are like me... when you need one, you cant find it.... then you run to the store and buy one only to find the 18 after you get home.

Probably shouldn't admit this, but there are more in the truck...
And in the toolbox in the garage... And in the drawers in the workbench... And in my desk at work... There's also a black chrome set in the little box in the T-bird...

Wife came into the shop one day and started counting my cars, complaining to me about why I need so many and what will I ever do with them. After all, she said, I can only drive one at a time!
I took her by the hand and marched her into the house and started counting purses and shoes. About halfway through she stopped me and said I made my point |

I worked at Sears for 5 years when I was young. Hardware department which had all the tools. When they would go through mark downs, I would buy as many as I could. Now, years layer and many visits to Lowes, Home Depot, Harbor Freight, and Northern Tool, I have spent the last 3 weekends gathering up tools from every there (house, cars, outside, all the garages, etc) just to get them organized. I should make pictures and post them to share in my embarrassment.

Found 2 more ratchets under the seat in the T-bird...
I can't say I remember these two... Still can't find my 1/2" New Britain ratchet with the push-thru square plug. Ratchet doesn't reverse, you turn it over. Found it in a Junkyard in a car trunk 35 years or so ago, with some WWII-era craftsman sockets and a speeder, all non-chromed because of the war. Honestly, the ratchet sucks, but it LOOKS neat. Hope I figure out where it is...

I did a re-count a couple weeks ago......now 65. Maybe it's time to narrow it down a bit again. Edited by hogfiddles - 08-November-2018 at 12:24PM |

Smooth. The handle is probably 14" long and with some grease it will be butter. I ha e no place sturdy enough to mount it and may make a steel stand alone moint. Gonna clean it up and make it blue I guess. There was a yellow vise on the butcher block bench but I didn't have the tools to remove it. MRV5 maybe? It had a powder coated finish. Hoping to get the bench too.
