Hey guys,
I've seen a couple pics on the internet of a 73 with a fiberglass "aero" type bumper. I'm sure this was custom made... but by who? Anybody know?
If I can't get one of these I'm planning on the old cut & shrink to make the front of my gts look a little better. If any one has any leads please let me know.
Thanks Al.

Mcford,
do you know of a way to get in touch with Mr. Dohner? If so please pass the interest along.
I don't expect him to "give" them away & will be happy to buy one if he has one laying around, even one that was damaged.. I'm sure a lot of guys with 73's would love to have that bumper.
Thanks for the info & I'll keep my fingers crossed.
AL

Man... if I was him I would make a mold off that bumper & make some 73's look good. I'm still holding on that something like this "turns up"  my car is getting close to paint & looks like I might have to do the old "foose' CUT & SHRINK to it to take the big lip look off the front.

Just curious, does anyone have a picture of the bumper? Can't say I've ever seen it.

What a waste. He had a waiting list for that bumper too, if I recall. Sleepy

FWIW... I'm still very much alive and well! LOL!! But like Michael said.... working like an indentured servant. If not for the fact I've been laid up for the past few weeks (and will be for a few more, nursing a broken hand), I'd have close to 4000 hours in for the year. In the past few days I've finally been able to sit in front of this computer and catch up on some things that have gone untouched for a couple of years. It sucks, but it lets us live in Tennessee and still pay a mortgage in Ohio. No one ever said life would be easy, but when so many people are scraping to get by, right now, I have no room or reason to grumble. We're blessed.

As for the bumper? You don't wanna know. When we were hustling to get packed and move, we had precious little time to sift, sort and stuff an entire lifetime into the back of two U-Hauls (so help me, if I live to be 100, I NEVER want to go through that again!). The bumper, jigged up and ready for mold building, was just too much to cope with in the little time we had and my options were nil. You can fill in the gaps from there. Add to that copious amounts of various resins and other raw materials (including honeycomb), and it was truly obscene. And entirely necessary. I still have all the tools tucked safely away, and Michael is holding on to the scoop mold and one of the "proofs" that I pulled from it, for me. I still have sketches, ideas and "drive". Just need a place and time. When the day comes that we sell the property in Ohio and are able to finally buy a home down here... then we'll see what happens.

Peace...

Kevin

From out of the abyss.....
Good to hear all is well, broken hand aside. Funny you should pull a Lazarus at this time. Just the other day I was just going through one of your old threads on another site involving another part and wondered what had become of you.
