You could still get the 3-speed in 1974, on the 302-2V and likely on the 250 six when it was reintroduced partway through the model year. 1975, it the 351-2V was the smallest engine which was automatic only.

RUG-BG2 was the last of the 4spd toploaders in 1973 the 3spd page doesn't show anything after 1972 |

Like I said above, in 1974 you could still get a 3-speed with the 302 and 250 which was the three on the tree. How many were actually made, I don't know.
