Might be a silly question but cannot find the obvious answer.
 
I have a 73 Torino Gran Sport H code 351w and I am looking for a replacement brake master cylinder fluid reservoir cap in chrome.
 
Should be easy you say ! the cap dimensions on my vehicle tip to tip are 6" x 3.5" and I cannot find a supplier that has a new replacement cap and gasket of that dimension. I bought a new old stock Ford cap that looked to exactly the same in the images but it was narrower. There are no part numbers on the cap that I can see.
 
Anyone got any tips / leads / links to suppliers without having to replace the whole fluid reservoir. I can see lots of new caps out there at 5.75" x 3.25" and may other sizes but not the dimensions I need.

well I don't think they ever came chrome plated , not to say you can't  have one  plated .  what did come chrome was the radiator cap . E-bay is where I found a new  brake cylinder cover  . that part # is D20Z-2162-A  it's  the right size but won't be chrome . the finish is " ant tin eyes"  I think is how it is said ,   lite  gold color . came with the  gasket .

yeah IDK, i bought a chrome one that was supposed to be for a gran torino in chome not even close!!! i think it was for a manual brake master??? so i had mine chromed Wink then swapped to the lincoln mark IV system so it being a slightly different master, the cover was different yet Confused sold my old one to matt and had the Lincoln one chromed too later Confused and it cost $100 Shocked i asked WTF? he said last time it was $35 because you brought it in with several other brackets too, just this is only one item we have a $100 minimumOuch but what the hell its show quality Big smileThumbs Up

wth? Shocked  i searched everywhere and bought the one from jegs, it was a mr. gasket i think?  but it was both round cups, that's why i'm thinking it was for manual brakes???
