The photoshoot was in November but I just got confirmation that it will be featured in PHR in 2 months!  I never really thought my car was magazine worthy but I knew the editor, Johnny Hunkins, loves the torinos, especially big block torinos so I emailed him the pics that I recently posted on this site and he loved them.  Their photographer did a great job and I can't wait to see the feature.

People are finally starting to see what we've known all along - these cars have great lines and are great American muscle cars that deserve far more exposure and appreciation.  Moveis like Gran Torino and the Fast and Furious as well as the Pure Vision car have really opened people's eyes to the potential of this car and I'm glad PHR is adding to the exposure.  I know they featured a certain big block Starsky & Hutch Torino (Jim's) a while back and I have always appreciated the more budget-build emphasis of PHR.  Sure, $150k shop cars that Hot Rod and others feature are nice to drool over but its not something most of us will ever own or drive.

I also appreciate all of the advice and even parts I've received from people on this board as I went through this 4 year build.  I've recieved lots of great advice on numerous issues with my car and I don't know if I ever would have found the center console mounting brackets if someone from here hadn't sent me some.

Anyway I thought I'd share my excitement with all of you.

Would you mind posting a link to the pictures you have sent to the editor?
Can't wait for the article. Thumbs Up

Guys here's the link to the other thread I put on here a while back.  The pictures the magazine took will be different as the ones in this link are what a local photographer did for me:

Excellent news!!!!   Congratulations!  They do amazing things with the photos, Johnny really knows the light and angles.  I can't wait to see the article, maybe if we keep this up we'll get a real list of repro parts like the belly button rides..
:-)
Jim

Edit: Just looked at the photos, REALLY like that color!!
Thumbs Up

Thanks Jim.  I installed some Scat bucket seats right before the photoshoot.  Their brackets though must be made for converting a bench seat car to buckets because the brackets didn't come close to matching the mounting holes.  Lots of fabrication to get those seats mounted but they are really nice seats.

That color is a BMW M3 blue and it really pops in the sunlight.  It was a very overcast day when the PHR photoshoot was done so I'm really interested to see how much the photographer's flashes bring that out.  Rober McGaffin was the photographer and he was very good at what he does.  He took some burnout pics that I really really hope make it into the mag.  They were awesome.

Congratulations on the magazine feature. I know exactly what it feels like to have your pride & joy in a magazine.
Performance Ford magazine from the UK did a feature on our Merkur XR4Ti rally car that finally came out this month. The photo shoot was done in June of 2007.
Make sure you get a few extra copies of the magazine so you can cut out the pages for framing. I asked for 4 and they sent me 7. Great bunch of guys!!

That's great! It's a good feeling seeing your car in a magazine feature. I enjoyed watching the Photographer working his magic on a day that was  overcast and trying to rain! I think I wiped my vehicle down at least 5 times! I'll be looking for it in PHP.

Is that Estoril Blue?  I gotta say, as much as I like M3's, (there really aren't words that quite describe the current generation, it ruined me for everything else)  that color looks way better on the Torino..
:-)

Cool deal man. I know that will be going into the "select" binder for car mags.

The only thing on that car I'm not keen on are the rims, but it's still an awesome car. The color is just perfect. If I get a wagon project going (and I might as well since I have a parts car already) then it WILL be that color. It's a little too much for my sedan though, and I have to have my Silver Blue Glow.

Excellent deal for the article, I never buy magazines on the stand and I only subscribe to C&D and HR but this may be one I have to have.

Jim I can't remember the name of that blue because I had it painted so long ago but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the name.  It was the blue on the 2004 or 2005 M3 and was very close to a blue used on the cadillac escalade as well.  I have the paint code somewhere.
