Rear wheels are on with new tires, 255/70-15 on the 15 x 8.5 slots 3.5" backspace.
Fills the wheel-wells, and doesn't rub or scrape.
Got a laugh out of watching them try to mount the tires, as the "well" you have to push the bead into to get the tires on is in the center of the wheel. there is an arm on the tire machine for pushing the tire down, but nobody ever uses it, and the mechanic forgot it was there...LOL. Just forgot, and couldn't get the tire on... I had to point it out, without laughing, LOL. So, now I have to get the front tires swapped over...
So, with the Mark V springs, and the big tires, the trunk lid is level, parallel to the ground. Dug thru the garage and found my K-40 antenna, and C.B. It's gonna be 1984 all over again Thumbs Up

How much did you pay for the Pepboys 255/70s?
That's why I want to get some 8" slots for Dee's truck.

I've got a magnet base, and the one that screws onto the edge of the trunklid. C.B. has been sitting 20+ years, but back in the day, one of my more electronically inclined moron friends turned up/tuned up the radio output. I could key the mic in the in-laws driveway and turn on all their touch-lamps. LOL That never got old. It would also make a fluorescent tube glow if you held it up to the andenna. Gotta see if it still works...

Randy, that is awesome. I would have a blast with a CB like that. My '76 still has the Motorola 40 channel CB with a PA under the hood. "Hey baby, be back to pick you up later!" was our common alcohol-induced, redneck pick-up line we'd yell through the PA. Funny, but they were never there when we went back...

Years ago, there was a way to trick up a 2 way radio to interrupt the ignition of a VW bug. The story went that truck drivers would key the mic whenever a bug would cut them off and shut it down.

Sit behind McDonalds and screw with people at the drive-thru...
Park next to the transformer at Denny's and make the lights flicker and dim...then play the Firm's "RADIOACTIVE" so it goes over their muzak.. LOUDLY!!!
Put the antenna down in the trunk and drive past police cars "Oinking"...
Go to the local make-out spot with a spot-light, key upthe P.A., say "I know my daughter is up here, and I'm gonna find her if I have to look in every car"...

Stupid stuff to do when you are 18...

It's funny looking at my picture above and seeing the rake on the car and realizing it wasn't even on level ground (it was pointing up-hill)
On level ground the trunklid is higher in back than in front.
