And one in the Junkyard... a 1977 base model

Notice NO bodyside moldings, narrow wheel well chrome (and a 79 grille) crushed rear bumper (cause my little brother got rear ended TWICE)
The above post should be read in a "Grumpy Old Man" voice.

Haven't updated in a while...
Got a rear bumper from a local guy who is working on a fastback. It was a little bent, and the core needs to be fixed, but way better than mine (No rot holes!). Used a hydraulic jack to gradually work the bend out (plywood under bumper on driveway, jack on bumper under truck's hitch, rubber hammer to jolly it along). Spent a few days drilling/cutting bolts to separate the core, and once the 'Bird goes into hibernation, I'll swap bumpers and bumper mounts (Holy crap are those rusted out). Can't understand how my back bumper hasn't fallen off as there is almost nothing left of either mount.

Got a chance to poke at the 'Bird tonight.
Charged the battery, started right up.
Paint looks like hell (12 year old lacquer).
Gave the hood and roof a quick cut with 800, then 1000 to get the dead paint off.
Primer is starting to ghost thru...
Been thinking about/collecting parts to re-do it again.
Maybe something like this...

That would look pretty cool on a late 70's Bird.

Maybe something like this, leaving the "Basket handle" satin black, and the roof more of a candy green..
 Kinda playing with ideas...

The lack of chrome trim really cleans those T birds up.

Light colors, like white, yellow and such really help. Getting rid of the "gills" in the fenders really streamlines them as well (Soon, soon...). Rear springs that raise the back, and make the trunklid level help as well.

Without the trim, it reminds me of a Dodge Mirada (a car 95% of the population has never heard of).

Didn't get much done this year...
Lung infection and Pneumonia kinda ruined the summer for me.
Did fix some of the primer spots/paint damage.
As far as looking like a Mirada (or Mierda)...
In the pictures, yes I can see that. In real life, not so much.
